The China Travels: The Itinerary

So, here we are... the full and complete itinerary, as I last saw it in April. See, my mom is doing most of the organizing (well, I think she's actually doing ALL of it), and I'm busy with school, so I'm not exactly too sure if this is still accurate. BUT, this is it, in its entirety..

August 8, 1998 Sariya (my sis) and I leave Toronto to arrive in Beijing on August 10. Meet up with Mom in Beijing, probably at the hotel (Beijing Novotel probably).
August 10 - 14 Beijing. This is my city to research, so check out my links for info.
August 14 Beijing to Xian in the morning. Meet Dad in Xian either on the 14th or the 15th.
August 17 Xian to Chongqing by air. Stay on board ship that night.
August 18 in the morning we sail from Chongqing on the Yangtze. Destination Wuhan, August 21. Sail through the 3 gorges and one day get out of the main cruise ship and get on a sampan and sail on an adjacent stream down some minor gorges.
August 21 Wuhan to Shanghai by air. Spend two days in Shanghai then go up to the West Lake (Hangzhou) then back.
August 26 To Hongkong by air. Shop, perhaps?
August 27 Hongkong to Vancouver. Stay with relatives for a night. Maybe see something of the city!
August 28 Granville Island. Market. fly back to TO

And so, that's what I know of our itinerary. As it gets closer to the departure date, I'm sure I will be able to fill in more of the details, especially about Beijing.

Now, just for general info, this is my family and I who are going to China. That would be my mom, my dad, and my sister Sariya. In order to fully gain from this experience, we are all choosing one "place", and one aspect of Chinese culture to study in detail. We then will teach the rest of the family about our areas of study. The place I am studying is Beijing, and the aspect of Chinese culture is Chinese calligraphy.
