Jon is a Waterloo Co-op student too.. but guess what, he doesn't live in Japan! Har har. Ok actually, his home base is this little hick town outside of Toronto, called Ajax. Don't worry if you haven't heard of it, I hear it's just a bunch of houses and some donut stores ;) Actually, I've been to Ajax, but it's hard to find because you drive by it so fast. hehehe. He'll kill me if he ever reads this! Anyway, I met Jon during frosh week because we were in the same advanced mathie classes. And we were CS partners for 2 terms (a bonding experience - one of those "friendship through adversity" things), we shared an apartment in Ottawa for our first work term back in Jan '96... he's also my running partner, study partner, procrastination partn er, fellow Reese's Peices (RP) lover. Oh, did I mention he's a badminton freak? We have an ongoing argument about which is better, tennis or badminton (tennis, OBVIOUSLY!). He's probably my bestest friend (if that's a word), and since people are always asking if there's anything more than friendship, I'll tell you... if you email and ask me! hahahahaha
Oh and of course, Jon was here in Japan too, for 2 weeks, starting here, and he even wrote a guest entry which can be found here.
Sariya. Let me introduce my sister. Weird name huh, fits the personality. Let's see, she's 21, tall, blue eyed and blonde, but she's got lotsa freckles. She's a smartie, that gal, she just graduated in June '97 from Dartmouth College (New Ha mpshire) in Chemistry, with a minor in Fine Arts. See, she IS weird! Ok, so she wants to be a doctor, but as of yet hasn't applied to any med schools because she wants to get some volunteer experience under her belt before trying her luck. So currently (as of Jan '98) she is living in Toronto - looking for a job, and volunteering at a hospital. She's also learning Spanish from tapes, and likes to take long walks and read. She came to Tokyo in December for 3 weeks or so, to visit, and that was lots of fun. The journal entries about her stay start here.
Levon is my oh-so-wonderful apartment-mate in Waterloo, and we've been roomies since first year first term. I think I mention her in the journal every once in awhile, like, when she phones me (I like it when she phones!). She hasn't been to To kyo yet, but she will if I find myself some rich Japanese boyfriend who will pay for her ticket over. She's counting on me, but I'm still looking...
Andre is someone I probably mention a bit too, like, when HE phones (and I like it when he phones too, and I like it double when both him and Levon phone at once!). He's a friend of mine since first year, so he knows how to really get me mad if he wants to. hasn't done it in awhile though.
Mikey I think I mention once er twice too. Again, a Waterloo student. Known him as well since 1A (first year, first term). We were housemates in Ottawa one term (not the term Jon and I shared a place) in this house on Ladouceur. Yep, you've probably heard of it, Ladouceur. And, we even *survived* (not a small feat, I've heard). Anyway, that's Mikey. Oh, and he doesn't like being called Mikey, so that's why I do.
