Da Temple

A (NOTHER) TEMPLE

OK. Another temple by my place. These things are really cool! And they all look different, so there's something to see at each one. Oh yeah, and they're also places of worship. Actually, there's one temple I went to in Asakusa which is really famous. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. That's OK because I'm going back there again for SURE (cuz it's a neat-o place) and I'll take some then.

Calligraphy & Jason

CALLIGRAPHY (& Jason)

OK, this is an example of Japanese calligraphy with a twit (yes, that's Jason). So, it doesn't quite look the same as what I'm used to seeing in Canada! Anyways, I'm taking calligraphy lessons, so I want some of my things to turn out like this! Yeah, whatever. Actually, calligraphers often start learning when they are 4 or 5, and only become masters when they are 50 +++. So, it's not easy. And now that I've tried, I can see why. It's really hard. But definitely fun. A large part of Japanese culture.

THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS

So this picture is of the Tokyo Municipal Government Buildings, which are pretty famous. Wierd lookin' huh? That's what I thought. Anyways, this is the view of them from a nearby building's viewing gallery. Little did I know that I would go to the Municipal Gvmnt Building's viewing gallery next. The tall part used to be the highest building in Japan, but now Sunshine City beats it. At least. Anyways, you can see Tokyo in the background... and that's looking AWAY from downtown!! Can you picture how big it is?

Da Big Seiko Clock

THE SEIKO CLOCK

Well, this is the largest pendulum clock in the world, and do I believe it! I mean, this thing is pretty big. It's powered by water, of all things, and there's a fountain at the bottow where you throw in your pennies, etc. I won't say what I wished for. Anyways, this clock is cool... and what else can I say but "It's a Seiko"

JASON AND THE PEANUT CREAM

This is a scary picture, if you know what is on that piece of toast that Jason is holding. It's called "peanut creme". I bought it thinking "hey, it's probably just like peanut butter, they're just calling it something else", but I was wrong. It probably does come from peanuts, I'm just not sure how. First of all, it looks like Weight Watchers' butterscotch pudding. And it smells like caramel. Hmm... wierd. So I tried a bit, and decided that I didn't think it was appropriate to put in my sandwich. Yuck. But I kept it to show to Jason when he came to visit. Jason, who hates to see food go to waste, insisted on eating the whole container even though he didn't really like it himself. This process took 2 days and numerous peices of toast and English muffins. And the picture tells the rest..

And that's all for the pictures for now..
