The fountain at the temple

A TEMPLE

Another temple. OK, this isn't in downtown Tokyo.. it's the one by my house again. But it's still Tokyo, so I'm putting it in. Anyways, this is the pond at the temple. There's a little shrine off to the left, in the middle of the pond. There are turtles! And ooogley fish. And of course, the fountain. Very cool.

The Gate
THE GATE

This is the big gate at the north entrance to the imperial palace. It is cool. It's very huuuuge! Can you see Jason in there? Yeah, like "Where's Waldo?". But he's there. Anyways, this is an old gate. It's pretty famous. If I knew the name, I'd tell you, but you're not so lucky.

THE IMPERIAL PALACE

So this is the famous Imperial Palace! Yep, Jason and I went there.. but we got there too late to actually enter the park. So we contented ourselves with walking around it, which, is no easy task. We by no means even covered half the perimeter in an hour. The whole place is surrounded by a moat, which you can see in the picture. The bridge there is really famous, and that building in the background is the actual palace. This is really the only place you can see the palace from, so I've heard. They don't let you in to the land directly surrounding it. It's really, really beautiful.

Funky

THE IMPERIAL PALACE - IN A TIME WARP

And this, is the imperial palace again. But I thought I'd have some fun with it.

THE HOMELESS IN SHINJUKU

So this is a curious picture, and it's worth close examination. This is the homeless in Shinjuku station... the subway station known to be the largest in the world. What makes this interesting is what they live in... they've taken cardboard boxes and painted them. It's actually quite beautiful, which makes you think of all the irony in the situation. I haven't figured out what to make of it yet.

There are more pictures of Tokyo... so go for it!
