Pics of the family
That's (from the left) Alex, Justin, Casey, Sariya, me, Michael, and Adam, in our usual atire. Here's the story. It happened one rainy afternoon. We were at the cottage, the lake was menacing - the clouds looming - the rain pouring... Alex, Sariya a nd I were thinking of *what* crazy thing we could possibly do next. I don't know who, but somebody made a crack about how Sariya and I would almost look funny in a skirt (since we never wear them) so I said to her (or maybe it was she that said to me -- it's not important) "I'll wear a skirt into Vito's if YOU wear a skirt into Vito's" (Vito's being Brighton's #1, and perhaps ONLY, pizzeria), and so I look in my closet for my only dress, and then I start adding all these other getups, and Sariya finds th is old jean skirt, and decides to wear some funny-lookin' boots, and then we got Alex into this (he's always in for some fun) and the idea was born. The family should dress up completely ridiculously and drive into Brighton, to Vito's -- eat a fabulous p izza meal -- keeping a STRAIGHT FACE the whole time, so as to keep the other restaurant guests puzzled, and then wander the town all weird, then go home. Truly, it is a bonding experience. I like the sombreros especially.
This is a typical picture of my sister Sariya (Frans) and I (Hans). We tend to take pictures like this, and we've got a whole series of 'em, with all sorts of different facial expressions. You know, "hans and frans going hmmm", "hans and frans yellin' at YOU", "hans and frans not happy at being awake at 5 to drive hans to the 'Loo", etc etc, you get the point. This particular one was shot in Indonesia - in Lombok I bevlieve. We'd been scuba diving, if you can't tell ;)
Now for a picture of my whole family... just a little gettin' down by the Xmas tree. We're in Jakarta, so that explains the cool duds and the wimpy tree. And just for the record, I don't know who the guy in the funny hat is.
And an older one of my dad, my sis, and I. Must be Ottawa at Easter cuz the tulips are out.
More family pictures - these ones are greeeat!
